Language is a mirror that reflects society and the world, and a dictionary is a mirror that reflects language.
Since its initial publication in 1988, ‘Daijirin’ has been committed to reflecting the entirety of the Japanese language, from everyday words to specialized terms, spanning from ancient to modern times.
All in the pursuit of providing a solid foundation with precise language, to pave the way for a new era.
Building on more than 130 years of dictionary-making achievements, ‘Daijirin Fourth Edition’ is the culmination of our combined efforts.

This is all thanks to the combined effort of:
golddranks for programming a rust library for parsing and interpreting the Mkd dictionary format.
GitHub - golddranks/monokakido: A Rust library for parsing and interpreting the Monokakido dictionary format. Full test coverage and efficient implementation with minimal dependencies.
stephenmk for working on Jitenbot, a program that is able to convert the exported Mkd data into the mdict and yomichan format.
GitHub - stephenmk/jitenbot: Convert data from Japanese dictionary websites and applications into portable file formats
Both of these projects are in need of developers!
If you found this dictionary interesting and have the programming knowledge and time, please give back to the community and help us convert more Mkd dictionaries!
